Polished Concrete
Polished concrete actually closes up the pores of the concrete surface by getting it flat as possible, and not allowing unwanted moisture in. This at the same time allows the concrete to breath, as you go up in diamond polishing grits it brings out a natural sheen. Whereas acid Stained Concrete uses acid to etch the concrete by opening the pores of the surface up. In order to get a sheen and protect the concrete you have to add a topcoat to the surface.
How do we polish concrete?
This is done by shaving the top of the concrete floor with a machine that cuts with diamond polishing pads, starting with a low grit and working your way up. As you go up in grit it closes the pores of the concrete making it less absorbent, and giving it that natural sheen and beauty.
